In addition to the property’s direct lake access, the lush tropical vegetation and fruit trees invite a myriad of exotic birds and other wildlife.The location is ideal, just 5 minutes from the center of Nuevo Arenal, a bustling Costa Rican town that includes banks, grocery stores, hardware, novelty, and electronics stores, pharmacies, restaurants, churches, health clinic, gas station, and more. Forty minutes east of the property are several hot spring resorts, and national parks with hiking, zip-lining, and waterfalls surrounding Volcano Arenal. A few minutes further down the road is the larger tourist area of La Fortuna with many hotels, restaurants, tourist shops, and tour guide companies. Within an hour west of the property are the larger towns of Tilaran and Canas with several picturesque villages along the way. The city of Liberia and its nearby international airport are just one more hour down the road.
The ideal climate allows residents to enjoy full use of the outdoor living areas on this extraordinary property. Begin your day by sipping your morning beverage on one of the seven lake view patios or walking through tropical gardens to the lovely shady sitting area. Keep in shape with some yoga or other exercise on the 20×20 foot, beautifully-built covered teak platform tucked into the jungle garden. Discover the swing in the lower garden and relax with the views: over 108 varieties of birds have been identified on the property; howler monkeys may be heard in the nearby trees; and several sloths have made their home here. Follow one of the many stone-laden walking paths through gorgeous tropical plants up the property into the fruit trees or down to your lake front area where you can launch your boat, catamaran, or kayak, or simply enjoy taking an afternoon swim in the warm fresh-water lake with virtually no boat traffic.
The two homes on the property were built only 5 years ago with quality, steel-frame construction and natural slate stone finish. Both homes boast large bay windows, window seats, sliding glass doors to multiple outdoor terraces on first and second levels, and exquisite attention to detail. Stairways, cabinets, doors, and ceilings are custom-made using stunning local woods; all counter tops are granite; there are walk-in closets and pantries; ceilings are 12-feet high on the lower levels and up to 20 feet on the upper stories, with ceiling fans inside and out; multiple transom windows throughout to optimize fresh air flow.

The larger of the two homes (315 square meter/ 3,500 square feet) has 3 large bedrooms and 3.5 baths. The first floor has an integrated open kitchen, dining, and living room floor plan, including a kitchen island with an Italian stove top and separate convection oven. There is also a guest bedroom suite with full bath, and a large patio area and a half-bath off the living area. The second floor includes the master suite with full bath, walk-in closet, and lake-view whirlpool tub.
There is a large guest bedroom with nearby full bath. Also on the second floor is a study and lounging area with electronic fireplace and surround-sound. This home includes a third-floor exercise and meditation studio with windows on three sides, which also may be used as an additional bedroom.
The second home (242 square meters/2,600 square feet) also provides an integrated open, main floor with multiple sliding doors leading out to a large stone patio and gorgeous garden views of Lake Arenal.
A built-in desk/study area and window seat for reading and watching the wildlife are incorporated into the main living area. This first floor includes a full bath as well as a guest suite with built-in desk and private bath. The master suite and additional guest bedroom, both with lake views, are on the second floor. The master suite includes a large sliding door leading to the 2 upper terraces, a desk/study area, whirlpool tub, and magnificent mural on the east wall. It is pre-wired for surround-sound and an electric fireplace. The upper guest bedroom includes a private bath and two bay windows. All rooms have built-in reading lights throughout.
