This unique situation is having two homes on the same property, each with two bedrooms and one full bathroom. There is room to convert the separate laundry room into another bedroom or office. One could be your home and one rented for income or to have as a guest house. They are at the end of Monkey Lane, an end street in Arenal which borders a protected forest area with lots of monkeys and birds. It is an ideal location and quieter than most. You can actually walk to the center of town if you don’t wish to have a car. The block is well kept by neighbors and each yard has a variety of plants and flowers which makes a friendly walk about pleasant.
The location is in the residential area of tranquil Nuevo Arenal, the preferred, growing town on Lake Arenal with 4000 residents. Our community is a very friendly, active with many retirees mostly from the U.S. Canada and some Europeans who easily meet and join into varied get togethers. We have a community Facebook page for the Lake Arenal Community with a section on Events and other chats so you can keep up with all the many choices for interesting things to do. There is a very busy calendar of events to choose from or you can just relax in your new home surrounded by healthy green nature with birds singing and monkeys howling around you. The Costa Rican residents have a very friendly relationship with us as there are many ways we help the town with benefits and volunteer work. Fiber Optics available to install.
Arenal is only a short 1 1/2-hour drive to the capital city of our Guanacaste Province, Liberia, which now competes with San Jose for necessary goods needed. The Liberia International Airport is conveniently located here so no need for a 4-hour drive to San Jose with its irritating traffic. Liberia is also only ½ hour from the beautiful Pacific Coast where you can choose between many North Nicoya Pacific Beaches for a day or weekend of sunshine and still return to the cooler climate of Lake Arenal with its continuous breezes for comfort and predictable 70F. Average year-round climate.
In the other direction we are an hour from the second busiest tourism town of La Fortuna. Your guests will be kept busy and awed at the Arenal Volcano, hot springs, zip lines, tours etc. In Arenal area we have water sports, mostly use kayaks for tranquility and ease, pickle ball is very popular as well as other activities. You could start a club for whatever you might miss easily.
The flora and fauna are beautiful. It is green year-round and an average of 70F. So, we have no need for a/c or heaters. Life is casual in this small country mountain town, but we have excellent restaurants; we even have the availability of having organic foods to buy here since there are many vegetarians and vegans. We even have fish trucks which drive up here with fresh fish of the day from the Pacific to buy. Most of the animals are grass fed here since the grass is lush and green year-round.
A bonus is that you can be surrounded by exotic orchids and tropical flowers which grow in abundance here. The birds are amazing; you might see over 100 varieties of colorful tropical birds here plus see the moneys in our neighborhood trees. Pura Vida.
