Arenal is only a short 1 1/2 hour drive to the capital city of our Guanacaste Province, to the capital city of Liberia, which now competes with San Jose for necessary purchases. The Liberia International Airport is conveniently located here so no need for a 4 hour drive to San Jose with its irritating traffic Liberia is also only ½ hour from the beautiful Pacific Coast where you can choose between many North Nicoya Peninsula Pacific Beaches for a day or weekend of sunshine and still return to the cooler climate we live in with its continuous breezes.

No more snow and cold since It is green year round with an average of 70F. so we have no need for a/c or heaters. Life is casual in this small country mountain town of 4000 population but we have excellent restaurants; we even have the availability of having organic foods to buy here for the many vegetarians and vegans. We have fish trucks which drive here with fresh fish from the Pacific for residents to buy. Most of the animals are grass fed here since the grass is lush and green year round. which means organic eggs, chickens and meats available locally. The flora and fauna are truly beautiful. You are surrounded by exotic orchids and tropical flowers which grow in abundance. The birds are amazing; you might see over 100 varieties of colorful tropical birds here plus see the moneys in your neighborhood trees. It is truly a Pura Vida here.
