From this home it is only a 1 1/2 hour drive to Liberia, the capital city of our Guanacaste Province. In Liberia most of the same services are available as in San Jose. The Liberia International Airport is conveniently located just 15 minutes from the city and the beautiful Pacific Coast beach is only another 20 minutes. You can choose between many of the Nicoya Peninsula Pacific Beaches for a day or weekend of sunshine and still return to the cooler climate we live in with its continuous breezes for comfort. No need for a/c or heat here in Arenal.
The flora and fauna are especially lovely here. The “year round” temperature averages 70F. Ceiling fans are sufficient for cool air flow. Life is casual in this small country mountain town but we have excellent restaurants; we even have the availability to buy or grow organic foods here. There are many vegetarians and vegans as well as people who just like to eat healthy fresh foods. There are no fast food joints here on Lake Arenal. Fish trucks drive to Arenal with fresh fish of the day taken from the Pacific Ocean to buy. Most of the animals are grass fed here since the grass is lush and green year round so they produce healthy foods.
A bonus is that you can be surrounded by exotic orchids and tropical flowers plus fruit trees which happily grow in abundance. The colorful tropical birds and flowers here are impressive and you will often see monkeys in the trees. Living on Lake Arenal is truly a Pura Vida.
