This is a comfortable, informal country home on an 11 acre property only 25 minutes from either the towns of Nuevo Arenal or Tilaran. To get to the Liberia International Airport only takes 1 ½ hours. It is very quiet and off the beaten track in the tranquil little town of Parceles. It has 2 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms and is partially furnished. There is another room that could easily be a third bedroom if necessary…..or a shared office/guest bedroom. You can sit comfortably in your open concept living room with an ample kitchen and dining area and only view nature surrounding you…..no neighbor’s homes in view.
There is also a very large open Workshop building close to the house that could easily be made into an Airbnb cabin, guest room or could be used for crafts, etc. The owner used it for curing bamboo which he grows and for potting healthy large aloe plants. This could earn income if you so wish. Or if you want a live in maid or caretaker this would be a perfect home for them. There is also very fertile land that could be used for growing organic vegetables and tropical flowers and fruit trees. This property has many choices that are not available with other same priced properties.
The location is back about a mile on a quiet country road from the main Route 142 so very quiet but all the services necessary for your basic needs are not far away. You will appreciate the lack of car noises so that your mind can rest and rejuvenate.
The Lake Arenal Community which you could be part of is a very friendly, active one with many retirees mostly from the U.S. and Canada and a smattering of Europeans who interact in many ways. We have a Facebook page for the Lake Arenal Community with a section on Events so you can keep up with all the interesting things to do. There is a very busy calendar of events to choose from or you can just relax in your new home surrounded by green nature with birds singing and monkeys howling around you. The Costa Rican residents have a very friendly relationship with us as there are many ways we help them with benefits and volunteer work. Retirees are very happy here.
From this home it is only a short 1 ½ hour drive to Liberia, the capital city of our Guanacaste Province, Liberia. The Liberia International Airport is conveniently located 1 ¾ hour from this home so no need for a 4 hour drive to San Jose which was true in the past learning to live with its irritating traffic. Liberia is also only ½ hour from the beautiful Pacific Coast where you can choose between many Northern Nicoya Pacific Beaches for a day or weekend of sunshine and still return to the cooler climate we live in with its continuous breezes for comfort.
The flora and fauna are beautiful here. It is green year round and an average of 70F. So we have no need for a/c or heaters; just ceiling fans keep your home comfortable year round.. Life is casual in this small country mountain town but we have excellent restaurants; we even have the availability of having organic foods to buy here since there are many vegetarians and vegans. There are fish trucks that drive up here with fish of the day from the Pacific to buy. Most of the animals are grass fed here since the grass is lush and green year round so healthy.
A bonus is that you can be surrounded by exotic orchids and tropical flowers which grow in abundance here. The colorful tropical birds and tropical flowers and orchids here are impressive plus you will often see moneys in the trees.. It is truly a Pura Vida here.
