To the side of this house is a thick row of old growth trees which are a corridor for the morning and evening howler monkeys who visit the lake daily plus there are many toucans and exotic tropical birds. The gardeners have been here for years and the landscaping is tastefully done and well cared for. The view of the lake from the front porch is very tranquil – nothing better in life than to sit in comfortable chairs and watch the sunset on the lake sipping a glass of wine or having a cold beer.
The advantage of this gated complex is that there is an olympic size crystal clear swimming pool, a covered tennis court with bleacher seats, a casita for homeowners to use for BBQs and parties, and another casita with exercise equipment, a trading library plus card tables. An annual homeowners fee covers the use of these amenities.
There is also a floating dock for 10 boats in the tranquil cove called Rainbow Bay, one of the very few on the 25 mile long Lake Arenal. If you wish to keep a boat you can rent a dock space, or if not, you can just fish or swim from this dock in the crystal clear lake warm rainwater or put in a kayak.
This is a lovely home which anybody would be proud of owning. It has the advantage of being within 2 km. of the bustling little town of Nuevo Arenal where most services are available. The restaurants are very good and lots of preferred grocery shopping is available including an organic store with fresh farm veggies and other health products.
Fish trucks deliver fresh fish from the Pacific and the meat is usually grass fed in this agricultural area. Most homeowners have their own fruit trees and spices growing.
For those of you who like tourism activities we are only a scenic, meandering 45 min drive around the lake to the Volcano Arenal National Park and all the tours available in this booming #2 tourism area of Costa Rica. Your visitors will love this opportunity to visit the many exciting tours and see all the tropical birds and animals living peacefully in nature.
Arenal also is only 1 1/2 for drive on all paved roads to the Liberia International Airport and the bustling growing capital of Guanacaste Province, Liberia. Most of the services available in the capital San Jose are now available in Liberia due to the influx of property owners on the Pacific Beaches. This save the 4 hour drive to San Jose with its bustling traffic and crowded areas. We love this more tranquil and natural Lake Arenal area with its friendly Costa Ricans, total use of alternative energy and protected forests which stay green year round, and our wonderful community of ex-Pats and Ticos. This is a perfect vacation spot and retirement haven.
