Most animals are grass fed so people are healthier here especially since they don’t eat processed food as much as in the States. There are also vegetarian and vegan options at some of the restaurants since healthier lifestyles are popular here.
From Arenal it is only a short 1 ½ hour drive to the capital city of our Guanacaste Province, Liberia, which now competes with San Jose for necessary purchases and services. The Liberia International Airport is conveniently located here so no need for a 4-hour drive to San Jose with its irritating traffic. Liberia is also only ½ hour from the beautiful Pacific Coast where you can choose from many Nicoya Peninsula Beaches for a day or weekend of sunshine and still return to the cooler climate with its continuous breezes for comfort.
