This attractive home which has 4.2 acres of open land and forest with trails that is located in a growing area. Since it’s on the Continental Divide, it provides a fantastic view of northwest Costa Rica and the lake’s beautiful sunset.
The Lake Arenal Community which you could be part of is a very friendly, active one with many retirees mostly from the U.S. and Canada and a smattering of Europeans who interact in many ways. We have a Facebook page for the Lake Arenal Community with a section on Events so you can keep up with all the interesting things to do. There is a very busy calendar of events to choose from or you can just relax in your new home surrounded by green nature with birds singing and monkeys howling around you. The Costa Rican residents have a very friendly relationship with us as there are many ways we help them with benefits and volunteer work. Retirees are very happy here.
It is on a shortcut road that saves time going to the capital city of Liberia. From this home it is only a short one hour drive to Liberia, the capital city of our Guanacaste Province, Liberia. The Liberia International Airport is conveniently located 1 1/4 hours from this home so no need for a 4 hour drive to San Jose which was true in the past learning to live with its irritating traffic. Liberia is also only ½ hour from the beautiful Pacific Coast where you can choose between many Northern Nicoya Pacific Beaches for a day or weekend of sunshine and still return to the cooler climate we live in with its continuous breezes for comfort.
The flora and fauna are beautiful here. It is green year round and an average of 70F. So we have no need for a/c or heaters; just ceiling fans keep your home comfortable year round.. Life is casual in this small country mountain town but we have excellent restaurants; we even have the availability of having organic foods to buy here since there are many vegetarians and vegans. There are fish trucks that drive up here with fish of the day from the Pacific to buy. Most of the animals are grass fed here since the grass is lush and green year round so healthy.
